Malkin - should average the highest PPG of the bunch. The problem is he's most likely to be injured when you need him the most. I wouldnt blame you for going for him and chancing his health but I wouldn't do it myself.

Backstrom - my best guess is low 70's this year. He's not off to the hottest start but should end up there. He always does.

Giroux - coming off 105 and 85 point seasons. Philly just hasn't look good and Giroux is pacing for 56 points. He makes some sense to target but I don't love it as he's shown in the past he's perfectly capable of flop seasons.

Wheeler - essentially see giroux, two great seasons followed by a flop only he's pacing for even less (41 points). Both he and Giroux should pick it up but we're going for BTB championships and want a lock.

O'Reilly - coming off the best season of his career followed by an mvp stanley cup run. His shot trajectory has been tending up for 4 seasons and shooting percentage is sustainable. Pacing for close to ppg. He's the kind of player that hasn't peaked even though he's in his late 20's (seer Marchand).

He's my target followed by backstrom given your current situation. I'm not factoring in keeper implications as your pretty set there, this year only and we want consistency with low injury risk.

Hard not to go with Malkin here particularly if history repeats and he goes bananas with Sid out.
The rest are close, but if I have to rank them I'm thinking Backstrom, RoR Wheeler, Giroux

Even in a limited keeper, I'm not crazy about any of these trades. Assuming points transfer with trades, why make this deal now instead of at the deadline? What do you gain by rushing this trade?

It says weekly line up in his sig so I assumed it's a H2H weekly format which would mean that points don't transfer and he's looking for consistent weekly production. I could easily be completely wrong so OP may want to clarify. But if points transfer over I agree with you, hold for now.

    Points don't follow in trades.
Weekly lineup is that each Monday, we set our roster of 9 F, 4 D and 1 G.
    It's not H2H.
We only get points from our active roster from Monday to Sunday.
The standings are the cumulative points of each week.
JHughes is on my bench every week.
I'm looking for a way to benefit from his value to get an older but more productive player who can help me win this year.

It's a solid strat and I can't bash it. This is a good format for Malkin given you have decent replacements if (when?) he goes down during fantasy playoffs. I still lean O'Reilly and I think O'Reilly might cost you less, perhaps we can target both? I don't see him missing games down the stretch barring a big injury and I just like him for 80+ points this year.

I like the Bold Malkin move or standing pat. I usually like shoving the chips in and I think with his injury out of the way, his superman cape being on with Crosby out, and the fact that he seems to be playing with a chip on his shoulder this year- Id do it- lol!

The funny thing is Im looking at maybe moving Burns and Malkin in one league buit I havent gotten anything even close to a fair offer. Id really consider Hughes myself- aww the dream... :P

    Geno's and O'Reilly's owners declined.

    Contacted other gms.

    My target list is now:

Wheeler, Backstrom, Giroux, Lindholm, Couturier, Duchene and Guentzel.

(No gm has agreed to a trade right now, but they're all interested in Hughes...)

I'd be fine with any of backstrom, Guentzel, or giroux to help you win now.
