Islanders put Andrew Ladd on waivers

The New York Islanders placed forward Andrew Ladd on Thursday.

Ladd, who has not yet appeared in a game with the Islanders this season, just completed a five-game conditioning stint with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, in which he scored one goal. He is coming off ACL surgery on his knee during the off-season.

Islanders general manager Lou Lamoriello said the team did not see enough from Ladd during his time in the AHL to add him to their NHL roster, and instead plan to have him see more playing time in Bridgeport. Lamoriello added that Ladd was appraised of the plan and approved it. His goal is to return to the NHL.

I was joking in WHL chatbox yesterday.
What is the more painful own for fantasyGMs and realGMs:

a) Andrew Ladd (NYI), age 33. This + 3yrs left at $5.5m.
b) David Backes (BOS), age 35. This + 1yr left at $6m.
c) Kyle Okposo (BUF), age 31. This + 3yrs left at $6m.
...and ofcourse, always:
d) Milan Lucic (CGY), age 31. This + 3yrs left at $5.25m.

Okposo and Lucic are at least "playing" in games and getting "points" for their (fantasy) GMs.
Backes is often healthy-scratch... and IR since Nov.2.
Ladd... TBD... is LouLam really going to bring him back to a hot-club this year?
