Default Time to drop Gustafsson (and pick up Philippe Myers)?

    I'm trying to be patient.

Goose was supposed to be a coup on my back end. Especially since I'm in a cap league and he has a hit of only 1.2m. But I'm starting to think the sample size is large enough to say he doesn't have it this year.

I'd like to pick up the hot hand in Philippe Myers but to do so I'd have to drop someone. Dropping Radim Simek is also an option. But he has been a beast so far in a banger cap league (team in sig).

    So three questions:

    (1) Is it time to drop Gustafsson?
    (2) Is it worth dropping him for Myers?
    (3) Does dropping him instead of Simek make sense in a banger league?

I see you are letting reason dictate your fantasy hockey decisions. Interesting choice. Lol

I'm in a similar boat with Gus and I recently picked up Radim Simek too. After watching Simek play there is NO WAY I would drop him at the moment...damn! He could be a peripherals king if he can keep the hits and blocked shots up wile picking up the odd point. I would not bite on Myers, try and keep Gus if you can stomach it. He did get a goal last night.

First of all, Holy F. Thank you for dropping the name Simek. Never seen him. Never heard of him...but I just picked him up thanks to this thread.

    Lastly, Radim Simek.

Gus has been playing better and the Hawks overall have been playing well. I anticipate some points coming Gustafsson's way soon.

I dropped Gust weeks ago and haven't looked back. I know the guide was VERY high on him but we're 20 games in here.

Boqvist was sent back to the minors. I anticipate Gustafsson getting another shot on PP1 and everyone know he has more skill to man the spot than Keith. The Hawks have opened things up over the last couple games. I'd hurry up and buy low. He wasn't dropped in my league. I did snatch up Strome who has been excelling with Debrincat and Kane the last few days.

I totally missed the boat on him too! He is now on one of my rosters!

If this were a one year league parting with Gus is likely the way to go. But, we still have a long way to go, Gus has shown some signs of breaking out of the dump and as mentioned the Boqvist threat has been removed for the time being and if he does he is definitely in the discussion as a keeper, if not for you, then someone else. Too early to bail in a keeper IMO. More patience.

In a cap banger keeper league, I'm not convinced Gus is worth more than Simek. I'm pretty sure I read on the Athletic that San Jose hasn't been the same since Simek was injured. And I don't know how people could have been sleeping on this guy last year...

Simek wasn't that great last year, 2.5 combined hits + blocks a game isn't elite, but it's very good for the salary. This year he looks to be getting more ice time, and has increased the physicality.

This comment isn’t getting enough attention. Trying to buy low on Gustafsson myself but not sure what to offer for him. Also picked up Strome myself, hopefully Colliton keeps that line together for the rest of the season.

His salary was 675k. I play in somewhat deep leagues, so you don't find "elite" on the wire...

But anyways, I still like him more than Gus for a cap banger league.
