Default John Carlson for Patrick Kane ROS?

12 team, roto one year league

Skater cats: G, A, PPP, SOG, Hits, Blocks.

Goalie Cats: Wins, GAA, Saves. Shutouts.

ROS trade who wins? Carlson owner currently in first, Kane looks to be trending back to what we all expected after slow start, if there still was a buy low window is it over now or soon? Same question for carkson, can he still be sold high?

Even if Carlsons strong start and likely career year continues, does does Kane out-point him rest of the way? Do the Block numbers for Carlson outweigh the lack of Hits/Blocks on Kanes stat line?

Thx as always for the input and feedback.

This is a good sell high on Carlson. I want the Kane side here.

Would be useful to know how many F vs D are started though.

Kane most likely outpoints Carlson by quite a margin. It depends on how it all affects your starting roster though. I'd probably do it.

These fellas are on it- take Kane.

Chicago has loosened up their game recently and moving forward their game should be more reminiscent of what we saw last year. Strome, Gustafsson, and Saad would be some guys to look at as well.

As someone who owns both, I'm genuinely not sure.
Kane is almost definitely going to get you more goals, assists, points etc. That's not really a question. The issue is more of point value. If you really think Carlson is going to continue his current run (which is unlikely, but he could quite easily continue to lead the league for defensemen), then it might be more worth it to have the best possible producer in the defensive spot. Your D slots are usually worth less than your forwards because
    A) The D position naturally generates less production (fewer shots and generally lower shooting percentage which leads to few goals, no faceoffs, lower likelihood of GWG or SHP)
    B) There is an early and sharp decline in the talent available in defense. Wing is similar, but at least a bit deeper.
Meanwhile there are significantly more producers in the forwards category (although to a lesser degree at wing), so replacing Kane with a less productive but still excellent player is easier, and you maximize your overall production by having a more heavily producing defensive core than other players. Assuming you have an acceptable replacement for Kane, lets say with a points expectation of 10-20 points less than he'd get, Carlson will likely outscore almost any possible replacement by at least that much. even if he slows his pace significantly, he could still probably produce at or slightly under a point a game (with PPP thrown in for good measure), which will blow the production of anyone you'd replace him with completely out of the water.
As far as I'm concerned, it depends on your team and your WW. If you have a higher than average number of highly productive wingers, I'd likely keep Carlson. Anything less than the best though, and I'd take Kane, as he's just starting to heat up.
