In TB Yzerman always found ways to give chances to young players when they showed they were ready. If Fabbri can somehow get his shit together there could be something to this move.

Also fits what STL wants because JDLR is big, physical and decent defensively.

Fabbri and Perlini. I like it by Yzerman - throw some stuff at the wall and see if it sticks.

I agree. There is going to be chances for 'somebody, anybody' to grab a chance at a scoring role.

Fabbri might just get a chance to finally get his career back on track after a few serious injuries. He's been scratched more than he's played this year so hopefully this kickstarts him again. He's still young enough that he has yet to reach his full potential. This could be a good trade for both teams.

Exactly. When you have Darren Helm on your "top line" these are the kind of deals I want to see.

In addition to injuries, it was difficult for Fabbri to crack a deep veteran lineup so Detroit is best case for him.

It's a good deal for Fabbri. Gets a shot to get his career on track. Good on Armstrong to move Fabbri where he gets that shot now.

I saw someone on Twitter say fabbri and Bertuzzi were teammates in the OHL. Maybe a reunion will help Fabbri and a possible top line promotion wouldnt hurt either. I'll be watching closely.

Yes they were in Guelph. Went to see them quite a bit back in the day.

Fabbri was a lot more fun to watch at that point than Bertuzzi was!

Poor Fabbri. He was trending to becoming a very very good player. Maybe he pulls a Koivu and becomes a good player again in his late 20s early 30s and strings together a handful of more complete seasons.

He's not even 24 years old yet. Lots of time to turn his career around.
