What's the deal with Mikael Granlund?

The guy produced well for the Wild and looked like he was on the ups until the Wild started to suck last year. I thought the move to the Preds was a home run for Poile and that they got a guy who was going to take off. Since he arrived it hasn't been the case. He was just waived in my league and I'm wondering if he's worth claiming?

The slow start and some deployment issues /
(which have recently improved) are causing the drops. I dropped him myself and you'll find at least two other recently created threads on him in here.

Whether he's worth adding of course depends entirely on your league, roster, and scoring categories. I'm guessing it's one of your signature leagues but don't want to guess and be wrong.

It's 100% based on the deployment. In MIN he was the focal point, top PP, over 18 minutes a night, and got the puck enough to shoot it over 2 times per game. In NSH, he's been bumped around lines and powerplay units to the tune of under 17 minutes per game, and a slight downtick in shooting volume. Add in some bad luck (especially IPP), and he's really not showing well in NSH. I think he will turn things around, but it may not be for another month or so.

he's normally a 15 fppg player in one of my keeper leagues but he's at a 9 fppg clip . noticed he is getting between 2-3 minutes off pp time so I'm going to sit tight for now

His best results come when he is playing C (60+), and I do not believe that is the case right now. His winger years with MIN were less than impressive IIRC (40+), and that is what I'd expect in NSH as well if he is on the wing. He is at about the same scoring rate this year as last year so far with the new team with about the same sample size.
