    Default Tarasenko Day-to-Day with UBI

Didn't see him get hurt myself but he'll miss both games this weekend at the least.

    Lou Korac@lkorac10

#stlblues announce Tarasenko will not make the trip this weekend to Boston or Detroit and will be reevaluated Monday.

Brings him back March/April. So he's back for the real life playoffs pretty much.

Tarasenko is back skating. On the ice for rehab. Fingers crossed he gets back before the playoffs (oh and I could use the RW boost!). I worry the Blues keep him on the shelf until the playoffs start for cap reasons though.

He had a 5-month TL for recovery. That puts him out until end of March.

Tarasenko returned early from his last shoulder injury.

If he gets back in mid-March that's a boon to somebody's fantasy team but the Blues only play 12-games over the last month of the season. One of the fewest in the league.

Tarasenko (shoulder) began skating again Sunday, RDS.ca reports.

Tarasenko is recovering from the second shoulder surgery of his career, and he still resides on long-term IR with hopes to return toward the end of March. Keep in mind that if the Blues leave him on LTIR for the rest of the regular season, it will free up $7.5 million of cap space that they can use at the trade deadline to add to their forward corps for another Stanley Cup run. If the team makes such a trade, it will likely rule the perennial 30-goal scorer out for the rest of the regular season.
    https://www.cbssports.com/fantasy/ho...skating-again/

So do the Blues have to keep Tarasenko out for the rest of the regular season before they can use LTIR? Further, if they add a player at the trade deadline who puts them over the cap with Tarasenko healthy would that be a strong indication that they will keep him out until the playoffs?

The Blues are 6 points ahead of everyone in the Western Conference so there is no needs to rush Tarasenko back, I'm trying to determine if we can read anything into the Blues actions at the trade deadline, Tarasenko is currently sitting on the wire in my 1 year league (No IR spots) and he would be a great add for fantasy playoffs if he is coming back.

Looking more and more like he's coming back this regular season.

That would be fantastic for all things hockey. Blues are already elite so now no need to add much at the deadline. And all fantasy owners can rejoice!

Well according to what pmorrow posted he looks to be ahead of schedule. I think that’s probably why he posted it.

yeah cool , he went for a a few twirls and took some wristers . was there any follow up besides blues reporters spotting him on the ice ?

this is his player card news at fantrax from just last week

    INJURY REPORT
Expected to return on Mar 27 - Injured Reserve.
    LATEST NEWS
    JAN 30, 1:52 PM EST
General manager Doug Armstrong said Tarasenko's (shoulder) timeline to return could be closer to six months, which would have him back in late April, Kevin Woodley of NHL.com reports.

    ANALYSIS
Tarasenko underwent his second shoulder surgery in three years back in October, and the initial timeline would have him returning in late March if everything went as planned. While the Russian sniper has been skating for over a week now, that reveals little about his shoulder's progress, and Armstrong is holding back optimism at this time. The Blues plan to re-evaluate him a couple weeks ahead of the Feb. 24 trade deadline to decide if they'll utilize their cap savings from placing Tarasenko on long-term IR to acquire a top-six forward. If the team opts to bring in such a player, we can effectively rule out Tarasenko for the rest of the regular season.

Good to know Fantrax has a sports medicine department. Looks like he’s done for the year. No point in posting to this thread anymore fellas. Any news regarding Tarasenko is apparently not news at all.
