Barkov still playing hurt?
I know he had two assists last night, but it caught my eye that he only had 2 FOWs. Looking into it he only took 5 faceoffs all game (usual is somewhere in the 20-25 range). His winger Huberdeau, took 11 (5-6), while he had only taken three others all season before last night's game. You don't suddenly stop having your top C take faceoffs and make your winger do it unless there's a reason.
All I could find with an initial quick search was that I was a UBI. My guess is it's either hand/wrist, or shoulder. Could be a couple days/weeks before he's back to full faceoff prowess.
However, on a hopeful note, maybe this gets him W eligibility.

He missed the team practice on Tues due to a UBI but played that night. There's no report out on him other than that but one has to assume it's a wrist issue if he wasn't taking the draws during the game.

Could be a shoulder or back or something. I know when I came back from my shoulder injury I wasn't taking draws right away. The jarring action bugged it too much, but most everything else was fine.Originally Posted by Axeman33

won 17 faceoffs last night. maybe the whatever that was bothering him is behind him now

Colorado is the worst team in the league for faceoffs. 341FW-397FL (28.4W-33.1L) for 46.2%. I wouldn't say that quite yet.

Barkov wasn't even taking the brunt of face offs the last 4 games previous to this one. 2 in one game? 6-7 in the others? He usually takes over 30. No he was obviously protecting something. It matters little how many face offs Barkov won last game, his owners are just glad he is at the dot again.

He fell awkwardly into the boards vs Vancouver and missed a shift (i think). It was a head/shoulder contact on the right side. Probably what is bothering him.

This weird thing about the FOs started after the game against Nashville when he got injured(played just 2 shifts).
