Jones vs Theodore
I’ve got Seth Jones, and someone is interested and offered a 4th in 2021. I’m loaded with picks in 2020, so 2021 is perfect. I’ve got hedman already, and a more then capable Q Hughes I can plug in for Jones. Waiver wire has Theodore, Werenski, Ekblad, McAvoy, and so on. Would you trade Jones, and grab say Theodore off waiver wire, or hold off for now and maybe pick up a JVR instead, who is also available? Not ready to cut bait on Nino yet, plus I’m in a deep league. I’ve got a temporary roster spot open due to Trocheck injury anyhow, so can add someone tonight anyways, just a matter of whether I move Jones or not.

With the Trocheck injury, just add one of the other d-men. If you need to drop a player because he's healthy again, you could then consider a move for a draft pick, preferably a player that you're considering dropping. Keep in mind that if the pick is in 2021, there's a significant time cost because you won't benefit from the asset until then.

Any of the D I mentioned stand out, given my format isn't a banger league, and goals are weighted higher? I'm not too worried about adding a D man right yet, JVR actually interests me more as he's due, but was just thinking of how my D would look if I moved Jones. I added JVR and Ekblad (moved to IR), so I have some options for sure. I’ll have to make some decisions when ekblad and troch are healthy. And I don’t mind a 2021 pick since I’ve already got lots in 20, and I’ve got good depth.Originally Posted by gooding74

Yep move Jones and pick up Theodore. The Vegas PP runs through him. On a bit of a slow streak but I can't see it lasting with all the firepower they have up front.
