    Default Flyers have recalled Farabee

Top prospect, Philly needs scoring. He is probably not going to pile up a ton of points this season but he could surprise. Must-own in keeper leagues, worth monitoring for this year too.

I can't promise I'll try but I'll try to try.

Bit of a carryover stance as from last year... where new PHI ownership rep wants to appease fans by making moves that should be upgrades.
So... they bring up Farabee - because PHI fans know he should be better than other guys they had in line-up.
    (Vorobyev also called up).

I still hate this... such a knee-jerk reaction... to make it look like the new guys are doing something.
But it's actually the same ol' same ol' from last year...

Most people don't know it... but PHI is actually TOPS in NHL right now in shot-differential.
    36.2 sf/gp ranks 3rd in NHL.
26.0 sa/gp ranks best in NHL.
    http://www.espn.com/nhl/statistics/t.../sort/avgShots

But the goalies don't have a great sv%... and the shooters aren't scoring. [Part of the issue is that PHI has been sucking a bit defensively... stupid stupid errors, something bringing up a Farabee or Vorobyev won't fix)
That would naturally self-correct... but this is the new PHI regime... if it ain't working NOW... try to fix it... NOW!

    (NOW, NOW, NOW)

    Impatient bastards.

I don't know what bringing up Farabee will really achieve... where are they going to play him?
The PP2 has been absolutely fine and they've got 3 good forward lines.
Sticking Farabee on the 4th line won't do shit... it'll be curious to see who gets the bump off the top 3 lines!!!

    Ho-hum...
    But here's the thing...
PHI will progress to the mean..
    Win some games...
And all the changes will look keen/fantastic...
    Stupid, though.
    Stupid.

Flyers schedule hasn't been great to get them going either. These moves are, for the future, dumb, but due to the Flyers games it might make it look like they've improved. Even though they're just doing as they should.

Per Charlie O'Connor (Flyers beat writer for theathletic), here's what PHI has going on at practice right now:

    Lines:
    JvR-Giroux-Voracek
    Lindblom-Couturier-TK
    Laughton-Hayes-Farabee
    Raffl-Vorobyev-Stewart

Looks like Pitlick is the extra.

PP1 looking like Giroux, Voracek, Farabee, JvR, Ghost. Farabee in slot.

Farabee in the slot is enough for me to sign him up in a couple one-year leagues.

I thought the skinny on Farabee was that while he has great offensive tools he also plays a responsible 2-way game? If that's the case I don't see a huge issue with him spending a bit of time in the bottom-6 if he has to.

Exactly my take. As good as he is offensively, it’s his 2 way game that I think got him the call. I still think he’s a future stud. Time will tell.
