    Default Timo Meier

Do you think he gets onto PP 1 soon?

His time on ice, pp time and pk time are all up this year, and his shot volume is high yet again, but his shooting % is sub 5.

What I really like about Meier is his underlying numbers, from what I've read, and he doesn't seem PP dependent.

He had 66 pts last year, and only 10 on the PP and that was playing sub 17 minutes per games.

I'm hoping he picks it up soon, sitting at 2 pts in 7 games. Hertl broke out of his slump, but still waiting on Meier.

There was a forum on here about rank 5 players, and everyone put him at top of list ahead of Boeser.

I think these 2 guys are comparable, with Boeser being a better passer I'd say, but both are shoot first guys.

I'm talking a non-banger league here, but goals weighted higher, so I think Meier is a sneaky good guy since he just broke out last year.

I don't see him getting on the top PP anytime soon, but that isn't really a huge problem for him because as you mention he isn't PP dependent to produce and the 2nd PP unit in San Jose is almost as good as many other team's first units. I'm not at all concerned about Meier yet. I still expect him to score close to 70 pts again.

I’m long term invested him, so just meant at some point this season, or say next year do you see him on it? I mean he’s one of their most talented players, so just a curious decision to put him on 2nd unit. The sooner the better, even though he’s not dependant on it as gives him best chance at ppg I’d say, even though 2nd unit is solid too, as look at last game as an example all the goals game from unit 1, so getting that first crack at scoring and being on there longer does help still.

no doubt being on the first unit would help, and possibly lead to an extra 5 points for him, but it isn't a deal breaker for him, imo. He's a 65-75 pt player regardless of the PP unit he is on. I'm sure in future years he will get on the top unit, and maybe this year if there is an injury to someone ahead of him right now, but that first unit will likely stick together all season imo.

A team’s PP advantage time is limited, so generally it is in its best interest to find a way to get its most talented offensive players in the mix. Don’t know why timo isn’t there, but in general, the cream rises to the top.
