Pick up Samsonov?

Points league, start one goalie each week. Wins x 2 points , shutouts x 3 points. Entered the year with just Carter Hart but been keeping an eye out for a good second option. Have a few easy drops, but only have 3 pickups for the year. Would hate to see him get scooped by somebody else and steal the starter job, but don't want to waste a pickup if he is on the weak end of a timeshare all year.

Samsonov right now in a weekly start league probably isn’t a great option just yet. Holtby will get a few more chances to completely crap the bed yet. He’s nice to have stashed on your roster for the future if you can manage that.

I can't see him stealing the starting job. I can see him playing 30+ games, though.

seems like there's been a lot of posters the last few days asking about picking up players in leagues with severely limited moves (maximum 3 to 5 moves per year). This is a new phenomenon to me. Most of my leagues have virtually unlimited moves (technically 50 for the year, but I never come close to reaching that number).

3 moves for the entire seasons, I don't think I'd make this move. I do really like Samsonov as he is on my roster and in my league we have a low weekly limited moves, but not season low limited moves. Also yesterday I saw an interview with Capitals coach Todd Reirdan and he said Holtby is going to be working things out with the goalies coach and he is still the starter.

We have unlimited moves. Each costs a couple bucks to add to the pot. Love it!

Start one goalie for the week? I dont think Samsonov will qualify your requirement as he won't get that many starts. Unless this is a dynasty / keeper league, I wouldn't add him unless Holtby is injured or dealt.
