    Default Ov for Aho

    Dynasty. Full CATs. Banger league.

    My Ov for his Aho.

I need C but obv a big hole will be left at LW. How many years does this guy have? I doubt I’d get a player of Aho’s caliber for Ovechkin next season.

I might be throwing in the towel this season and I’m definitely a contender.

If "Full Cats" includes SOGs, PPP and HITs or some combo thereof Ovy is still a top-end player.

What do you mean by "I might be throwing in the towel this season and I’m definitely a contender." If you are a contender this season the trade is a downgrade, if you are throwing in the towel (meaning to give up) and looking to win in future season than Aho is a good addition. I would ask for something more than just Aho, especially given his early season struggles.

I meant that I’d be throwing in the towel if I do the trade as I believe Ovechkin will out produce him in my league settings. I’m looking ahead. If it’s close, I would do the deal and maybe get him to add Konecny. Next season, regression could see him fall off a cliff ie Pavelski.

First off, I think it is a little early to be throwing in the towel for the season. I understand it is intriguing to possibly get a player for the future in Aho as I am sort of in the same boat with trying to trade Sidney Crosby, but with a trade I am also trying to make something work for this year as well. I understand it is very hard with trading players such as OV and Sid because there is limited equal return for them unless you are getting multiple players back. In my opinion I would ask for something more in return.

Konecny is a good piece and is off to a good start. Still don't know if that is enough for OV with Aho, but it is getting closer.

Ovi isn't falling off any cliff anytime soon. I always predict him like this, accounting for regression. Right now he's an 80 point, 50 goal players who gives you over 300 shots, 200 hits and 30+PPP. So lets use that as our baseline. Now looking into next year let's say he regresses to a 70 point, 40 goal, 275 shots, 175 hits and 25+PPP. Well dam that's still top 10 value. Now let's say the year after, were in year 3 now. He regresses to 60 points, 35 goals, 250 SOG, 150 Hits and 20 PPP. Well dam that's still a top 50 maybe top 30 guy in your setup.

My point being that yes father time is undefeated but a guy like Ovi brings so many different elements and will likely despite of the potential point difference between him and a Aho, will still be more valuable in this set up for years.

    This isn't a 1 for 1 trade.
Ovie will be a top 10 talent in your league for this season, and next hands down. For the following 2 seasons he should still be in top 50 at worst; more likely still competing in the top 30.

If you already have your Keepers set for next year. Then I would be targeting drafts picks from your leagues 1st & 2nd round draft, and probably want 3rd round too.

Might help more if we knew how many teams in your league, and how many keepers do you get.
