Since it was an F for a D, what are the respective teams current situations and how badly does that other team need an upgrade on defense? It might be relative, but since the subject thread is “who got fleeced”, it’s a bit of a leading statement. Need more context.
Neal Could be set for his bounce back year, or he could be off to a hot start but could and likely will slow down. Theodore oj the other hand is a good defenceman on a good Vegas team and will be consistent and hit 35-40pts.

I own Neal. I'm looking to deal him. I'd considered Neal and Olofsson as a package to target a specific player but then decided I'm going to ride with Olofsson. However, I did want to move Neal for a top shelf defenseman. I got Theodore in a trade offer along with Tom Wilson for him. I don't want Wilson, but I'm interested in Theodore. When I look at my team, I feel unsettled at D. I also don't like having two Hawks and two Devils but that's another thread about diversification.
In my league, I offered Neal to every team... the only offer was for Theodore and Wilson. I rejected it but wanted to know what the reaction would've been had I accepted.

It would depend on roster sizes to give a complete answer. I do not think either side got fleeced.
I do prefer the Neal side because the upside is high and if he somehow totally falls off he can be replaced from the waiver wire, whereas Theodore is not a big improvement over waiver wire options (probably).
