    Default Sebastian Aho

Normally, I would not be concerned with his lackluster start. However, I am slightly concerned with his PP deployment and the fact that his team has been very successful without him. Is the coach just riding the hot hand of the other pp unit?

It is very early, and I still see this as a buy low window on Aho. Just interested to hear others thoughts on this topic.

    Thanks!

brindamour might just be using what works well at the moment if he's getting less pp time (just going by your analysis , not mine for his pp time)but the cream always rises to the top so hang in there and the points will come .

Well your right, there is an absolute buy low opportunity here if you can find an Aho owner ready to make a big mistake (:

I didn't know that he wasn't on the top PP unit. That is a surprise to me, and explains his cold start. That said, I can't see a talent like him not turning things around soon.

I like that. Nurse is a good defencemen but it looks like Kleflom is the PP1 guy and is playing like he plans on keeping it that way. This is a sweet deal for you!

Thanks, to keep the balance in my team I did a 2nd trade which was W. Karlsson for OEL and scooped Hronek off free agency (he had just come off waivers) , happy with the end result.

I think he is on the "top" PP unit. I believe the "2nd" unit is getting more time because they are executing on their opportunities. At least that is how they have them ranked on https://www.dailyfaceoff.com › teams

The odds of any teams best offensive weapon not being on the PP1 or remaining off of it (if the case at all) is going to be short lived.

There was a period last year of over a month where Colorado had the top PP unit in the NHL - yet Rant & Mack had something like a combined 2 PPP - it was all 2nd unit.
    it happens

    wow, that is interesting.

I haven't watched any Carolina games this year, but those power play units explain so much about what is going on with that team right now. The so-called "first unit" has the best player (Aho), the team's best net-front player (Staal) and Gardiner (who many think should be on the top PP unit). The second unit has Teravainen (who is normally on the top unit), Hamilton (who should be the main PP dman over Gardiner, imo), and Svechnikov. The make up of the 2nd unit seems better suited to succeed.

What is a bit strange with these PP units is that Brind'Amour isn't overloading his top PP unit with all his best players (which most teams do). A top PP unit consisting of: Aho, Teravainen, Staal, Svechnikov, and Hamilton would be deadly. Instead, Brind'Amour is attempting to spread the talent over two units, which atm seems to be negatively impacting Aho.

I just landed Aho + Krug + solid October waiver pick for Debrincat + Letang + 5th round entry pick for sig. below. I'm going to miss the Cat, but I'm happy to land Aho when his value is mediocre at best right now.
