How does the points work? Do you start nightly or weekly or is it just cumulative for the whole season? How many D do you start? My inclination is yes as you seem good enough on defense without those two (thank you burns) and it's a big point boost up front.
    Set roster weekly in H2H (Mon to Sun) - 16 Teams - start 6F, 3D, and 1G per week - Keep 2

    Points: 2 G / 2 A / 1 PPG / 1 PPA / 1 Hat Trick / 1 SHG / 1 SHA / 1 GWG - 3 Goalie Win / 2 Goalie Loss in SO or OT / 5 goalie SO

    Forwards:
    C. McDavid, N. Kucherov, R. O'Reilly, J. Schwartz, J. Toews, J. Huberdeau, T. Toffoli, M. Granlund

    Defense:
    B. Burns, J. Klingberg, R. Josi, J. Slavin

    Goalie:
    J. Binnington

Bit of a different setup. Players points from last year count towards points for this year.

All players play every night. No bench players. Cumulative points for all season.

We start 6 D every night.

I think this weakens my d a bit but is it worth it? Hughes gonna big!

I'm gonna say no to this one. Losing Yandle (now) and Hughes (future) guts your defense, especially with Byfuglien undecided about his future. It would improve your forwards but you're already pretty strong up front.
    10-team H2H points keeper league, keep 4
    G: 2, A: 2, SOG: 0.15, Hit: 0.15, Block: 0.15, W: 3.5, Sv: 0.025, SO: 6
    7 F, 3 D, 1 G

    2022-2023 Roster:
F: Connor McDavid, Steven Stamkos, Artemi Panarin, Jack Hughes, Mark Stone, Josh Norris, Tyler Bertuzzi, PL Dubois, Sam Bennett, Tom Wilson (IR)
D: Kris Letang, Drew Doughty, Brent Burns, Shayne Gostisbehere
    G: Ilya Sorokin, Thatcher Demko

Got your PM thought I'd answer here. I think it's close. It's probably worth doing the math on the approximate expected point differential for keeping the d men you have vs the ones you'd pick up and then with the forwards you'd gain vs the ones you currently have. In your format I'd take the one that comes out higher. Be sure to include any drop you'd have to make.

My intuition says take the forwards in this format but I could be wrong.

    I'm unsure on this.

If you have 6 D slots to fill nightly, I wouldn't want to be filling only 4 of them, so I'd want to know what the plan is to replace the D from waivers. The forwards will outscore the defenders, but how much will they outscore the forwards you drop versus the D you need to pickup.
