    Default Drop DeBust for Hayton/Steel/Beauvillier

yeah, yeah, it's early and DeBust was on EVERYONE'S sleeper list...but he's still sleeping! In a league that counts G/A/STPS/Hits/Pims/Shots...would you replace him with any of Hayton, Steel or Beauvillier? Thanks in advance.

I would hold him over all of those guys and it's not close. Presuming we're talking about Boston's Debrusk.

Way too early. Be patient. 55 points is a very realistic possibility for DeBrusk this year. It's only been a few games. Last game he actually scored and had an assist but both goals were called off, one correctly and one not so much. He's getting changes. It's only a matter of time.
I can't promise I'll try but I'll try to try.

Just for the record, DeBrusk never las on my sleeper list. But I would hold for now. Not worth dropping him over any of these guys.

A lot of people like DeBrusk for a 55pt breakout give or take, which means out of 82 games there will be a minimum of 27 games when he doesn't get a point. Sprinkle in some multipoint efforts here and there and you're looking at 30-35 games when he's not on the scoresheet. Boston has only played four games. There are plenty more scoreless nights to come but it doesn't mean he's not going to hit the 55 total by the end.

Just because a bunch of players are off to scorching (and unsustainable) PPG+ starts it doesn't mean DeBrusk is a bust for not doing the same.

There are a few things that factor in here for me, and a key question is whether this a keeper or a one year league? If it's one year, then dropping DeBust (too funny) for any of the guys you mentioned would be a mistake. If this is a keeper league, then it comes down to whether you are in a win now or build mode. If it's win now, DeBust remains your guy. If your building, I would consider trying to trade DeBust (when he starts to heat up, which he will) and then pick up one of Hayton or Steel who I think both have higher upside than Jake. This is always a little risky, but if you concur with Hayton and Steel's upside, it's potentially a solid building move.

Don't drop DeBrusk for any of those guys - he's had 2 points called back in his last game vs colorado, he looks hungry out there.

Not to hijack this thread but just curious while on the topic of DeBrusk. He was on my farm team and would have to be permanently called up soon and I don’t have a spot for him. I traded him for a 2nd round pick which should be the 13th to 15th overall in terms of NHL picks.

    solid value for moving him?

I don't mind at all...can always take information any time you can get it. First, I appreciate everyone who took the time to respond. Second, the issue you will have, I imagine, is that while he was on everyone's sleepers list but, like most people here, see him topping out mid-50's points wise, soooo....i'd say you got pretty good value. One piece of advice on trades....never look back....good or bad, just keep looking forward.

Agree. Far to early to drop. I get that he's off to a slow start but Hayton is a healthy scratch tonight, Beauvillier has dohnuts in his last couple games, and I don't think Steel has even played a game yet this year. So you're not to far behind the eightball.
