    Default Anyone holding onto Buff?

    Yup.

    Another Buff thread.

I drafted him in Hope's that he'd make a decision sooner than later. Not looking too promising.

Wondering what the general consensus is out there if people are keeping him or cutting bait?

I have a couple bench spots so hes not taking up an active roster but I'm debating cutting ties.

I haven't updated my teams in my sig to this point FYI.

I dropped him after it came out he was basically retired and the Jets talked him out of it. Don't think he's coming back and even if he does, Buff with his heart not in it isn't a great asset to have around. Broke my heart to drop him though...

I have him in a multicat salary keeper league taking up a reserve spot and 7.6m in cap space. I am already up against the cap too, so this is troublesome.

I am holding in one of my multicat keeper leagues. No salary cap so that makes it a bit more bearable but still sucks wasting a roster space on him.

For the points only league in my signature, I dropped him at the start of the year. Needless to say, in our re-draft, he didn't get picked so he's still a FA for now.

I am holding onto him since it's a league with limited games played. I don't think I will have many issues maxing out the games so I can afford to wait a month or so on him. He would be worth it if he came back although if the Jets keep playing as poorly as they have, I doubt he will come back.

Per David Pagnotta, he thinks Buff will be back, but he knows Buff is in no rush, and definitely not in game shape.

The way I see it, even if he’s back in a month or so, it would be surprising if he adds value right away.

Ya this is a multi cat no salary cap league.

The potential if he comes back, even if not in full "game shape" could be worth it.

Just curious if I'm the only one holding on hope.

I am holding onto him in the multicat limited keeper in my signature.

If he comes back in time to be in shape for our H2H playoffs it is a game changer for my team.

I don't have him on my team but I would have dropped him once the Jets started suspending him. That put up a Red Flag to me that the team and him are not on the same page and I don't think he is think about hockey and coming back.

I have been holding him, but the league in question has a pretty deep bench. It doesn't hurt me too much to waste a spot on him, and the upside in a multicat league far exceeds replacement value if he decides to come back. I think I'll probably give him until December and if there's no update cut him then.

The suspension was just a technical formality, and had nothing to do with the relationship between Buff and management.

Exactly. It was the only way for the Jets to get his cap hit off the books as for whatever length of time he's not playing.

I didn't know that thanks. I guess I still have a question though for you and I see you are from Winnipeg so you might know more than me. Do you really think Buff after the team suspended him and he didn't budge at all to return will he return at all or is his even thinking about hockey at all right now?
