    Ouch, guy has some bad luck with his health. He's missed 20% of the season on average the last 6yrs.

    AKA, 65.67 games/82 (missing 16.33 games). And only played in 82.6% of the games in his career. That's actually sad.

    No one knows what "longer term" translates to real time yet. Could be 3 weeks or could be 3 months. I'm hoping we'll be let in on more details soon.

    I think if it was even remotely possible he'd be out for less than a month they'd term it "week-to-week;" so my guess is this will be at least 6-8 weeks, if not more.

    Given they stated along the lines that Malkin is out longer term but his season is not in jeopardy makes me think it's more along the lines of months or weeks. If it's not, then why mention the season at all?
