Olofson vs johnson

Been offered Andreas Johnsson and deangelo for my olofsson and cernak.

Johnson was taken in the 5th round of our draft, deangelo the 10th round.
Cernak I recently picked off wire to stream and olofsson I got in the last 14th round.
I'm excited to see what he can do with Eichel.
I can hear a lot of you saying but go with the better player, but is Johansson better?? Support role in Toronto...

Johnsson is supporting Nylander & Matthews on the 1st line. He's further supporting Matthews, Tavares, Marner & Rielly on PP1.
He's done nothing but improve every year since he was drafted - and do so exponentially.

Cernak is much more of a peripheral provider than offensive. I don't know what cats you use, but if he's waiver fodder to you - DeAngelo likely gets solid PP2 time all year.

I'd make this deal. Olofsson probably works out... but does he give you as much or more than AJ with Matthews? That'd be hard to do

I rushed this decision because well not much was on the line since ollofsson was my last pick and cernak I picked up yesterday to stream. I accepted. Johnson went pretty early....i don't care about deangelo...will wait to see what he does first game if nothing I'll drop him for the next flavor of the week!

No problem...i don't mind. Until this point he's been extremely overrated. And well, in fantasy he was useless last year. Good on him if he can put something together.

The way I feel about Deangelo is pretty similar tho. Sure he's better but worth rostering? Hes behind Trouba and maybe Fox? Weve been waitng for him to do something for what feels like forever.

Man I already regret this trade. Olofsson looks deadly on that PP. They are working the puck between him and dahlin! That's a lot of responsibility for the kid, damn!

Olofsson is the primary trigger man on PP1 and the guys spend the entire time trying to feed him. He's engrained in the structure of that powerplay and it's a very rare thing to see a rookie get such a responsibility and be killing it like Olofsson has. If you've watched him shoot it's pretty obvious why.

Johnsson is also on PP1 but he's basically a scarecrow. His only job is to screen the goalie and none of the play runs through him whatsoever. You could swap him with literally anybody on the team and the result would be the same. He'll get a few points by accident but he won't fare much better than Kadri did in the same role last season.

My thoughts exactly. Should have stuck with my gut...it was unanimous in here to do it. Must be leaf fans. Sigh
