What could possibly be more exciting than the puck dropping on the regular season? My annual 15 fearless forecasts for the 2019-20 campaign! Here's a link to the column, in case you haven't already read it: https://dobberhockey.com/hockey-home...019-20-season/
In terms of casting your votes, you should go ahead and vote for any many or as few of the 15 as you think will indeed occur this coming season. There’s also a “none of the above” choice if you don’t believe that any of the 15 will indeed come to fruition.
Since I had to shorten some of the forecasts to fit in the poll, here’s the full list:
1) Matt Dumba will lead the Wild in scoring
2) Gustav Nyquist will not break the point per every other game mark
3) Thomas Greiss will win more games than Robin Lehner
4) Another rookie will outscore each of Jack Hughes and Kaapo Kakko
5) No more than six goalies will appear in 40+ games while having a GAA under 2.50
6) The Red Wings will have four forwards score 65+ points
7) Andrei Svechnikov will at least double his rookie total of 37 points
8) Nikita Kucherov, Steven Stamkos and Brayden Point will each see at least a 15% reduction in per game scoring rate versus last season
9) Tyler Seguin will finish in the top ten in NHL scoring
10) Jake Guentzel will lead the league in goals
11) Connor McDavid will win the NHL scoring race by at least 20 points
12) Mika Zibanejad will be among the top six centers in scoring
13) Marc-Andre Fleury will not win more than 27 games
14) Fewer than 25 players will score 10+ PPGs
15) Erik Karlsson will outscore Brent Burns by at least 15 points
One thing that I must stress – these are called fearless forecasts for a reason, in that they’re supposed to be plausible yet bold – that is, you should be able to envision them perhaps coming true but none should be far more likely than not to actually occur. In other words, if I get more than half of these right it would be a big deal. But I’ve done my best to include general fantasy advice and insight in each forecast, so be sure to read the column once it’s posted.
Lastly, after you cast your vote(s) you should post which one(s) you voted for any why, plus add your own forecast(s). Once the season is over I’ll revisit these to see how we did. Happy voting, and good luck in your 2019-20 fantasy leagues!

(No I don't have a hockey problem...)
Seguin getting lots of votes. Here's a tidbit, just to prove it's indeed a fearless forecast: in 2013-14, Seguin finished fourth in NHL scoring, and the following season he landed in the 7th spot. Since then he’s been 14th, 15th, 24th, and 28th.

Went with Greiss, Tampa Forwards, Seguin, McDavid and Karlesson. Not that I think these are locks but they all seem like they could happen.

I just made up my own:

Hinostrosa will out point Ryan Johansen
Vegas will win the President's trophy
Austin Matthews will win the Rocket Richard Trophy
Nikita Gusev will put up 70+ points
Vancouver will miss the playoffs by double digit points
Brady Tkachuk has a 30g 30a season while being -10
Sidney Crosby wins Art Ross & Hart
Boston Bruins miss the playoffs.

Nice thread.
I voted... and am on board with the masses.
I think DAL's addition of Pavelski & emergence of Hintz should pop another 5ppp to Seguin's totals.
And the pure maturity of Heiskanen may add another 3-5pts there as well.
Additionally, a better DAL team could mean a few token empty-netters, especially if Seguin is just out there raking a draw backwards.
All that could add up to 10+pts... which should do the "Top 10" job.
I just drafted him #12 overall in RHRS, so I'm all in.

These fearless forecasts are great and fun and I hope no one is making fantasy roster decisions taking them seriously
I can't promise I'll try but I'll try to try.
That's why I always add the disclaimer both here and in the article. These are supposed to be reaches - stuff that is plausible but still a stretch. But I'll plug Wednesday's column in that even if you aren't on board for some of these forecasts I made a point in the column to provide some fantasy logic that can be helpful even if the forecasts don't ultimately come true.
