What is Hughes worth? Hughes trade offer!
I have a lot of interest in my goalies. So much so that the owner of Jake Hughes has offered me a trade.
Jack Hughes and Victor Hedman in exchange for my first round pick (5th overall) and And Andrei Vasilevskiy.
On the surface I am instantly thinking no way as I could potentially draft Barkov or Bobrovsky with this pick but thought id get some insurance on my choice and more or less some insight as to how I could counter this as I am greatly interested in having Hughes.
This info is for the league in my signature and any and all advice is greatly appreciated.

Hughes is going to be really really good but in a keep 6 I’d still perfer vas. You could counter Andersen for Hughes but I wouldn’t give that 5th overall in the deal.
If you can do Andersen for Hughes then draft bobo then I’d consider it

Not sure I would do this. I agree that Hughes is going to be good, probably really good. However, I don't think you would keep Hughes over Draisaitl would you? What I would do is shop either Draisaitl or F. Andersen for a high 1st rounder (depending on who you would like to keep between those two and who gets you the best pick upgrade). I don't think I would entertain Hughes seeing you aren't even keeping Draisaitl IMO.Originally Posted by newper114

Keep what you got man. Def. the hype for rookies this year is out of hand.
The guy with the 2nd pick in our rookie draft, 16 team dynasty Kakko went pick 1,
So for Hughes he wanted Barzal, 2019 Pick 1.07 and my 2020 1st rounder. The 2020 pick would probably be 1.13 - 1.16.
So I was even willing to give Barzal and my 2020 1st and he just laughed. The 1.07 pick could have gotten him Boqvist, Shesterkin, Oettinger, Kravtsov, Gusev, Farabee, Cozens etc..
I thought he was mental. But then a bunch of owners started making fun of my trade offers. All bottom 5 team owners of course. I just laughed to myself. They claim I want their best players for my worst. These owners will probably continue to be bottom teams for a very long time. They value new and shiny over what makes actual sense and they think they know it all.
Rookie picks are getting wY way overvalued. Rookies in general.

I would also pass on this. Jack Hughes is most likely going to be a great player, but to give up the top goalie in the league and a #1 pick to get him and Viktor Hedman that is a bit steep. Hughes is going to look great at times this season and he is going to have his down times as well. In my opinion I don't think he is the next Connor McDavid, but he will be a great player don't get me wrong. We already know that Vas is the best Goalie though in the league right now.

Thanks for all the input guys. I knew that deal wasn't going to happen I was more looking for a counter offer.
The guy ended up not taking Hughes after all, Hughes fell right into my lap with no sacrifices needed to be made!

Hard no for me especially because Barkov , vasi and Bob should all have more value then hughes and maybe even hedman(depending on d settings)
