    Default A trade offer. Avs vs Leafs

    Hey all.
    First and foremost the categories for players are G A PPP SHP hits +- shots.
    I'm going for it this year after winning it all last year and I was proposed the following
    His Rantanen
    For my Tavares
    Part of me thinks this is a lateral move, I would gain years that Rantanen has on Tavares.
    Curious to see what everyone thinks I should do!

    does not make you any stronger or weaker imo...if its dynasty league and positions count i maybe inclined to do it as its harder to get good winger vs center..but this does not improve you

    How many do you start at each position? If you have C, RW, LW, I take Rantanen since wingers are harder to find. If it's just forwards, then it's a coin flip (I'd still probably take Rantanen due to age).

    If forward positions matter I generally want rantanen but it depends on the rest of your team. If you're going for it you want some balance in your roster.

    If he proposed the trade there's also no harm asking for an add. Would need to see the rest of your roster before deciding.

    Can you simplify that list a bit and show who qualifies as RW? It's really a lateral move for the most part. JT isn't old enough I worry about his decline in the next 3yrs so age isn't a consideration IMO.
    I believe JT fills your hits, sog, slighly better than Rantanen. probably more PPP as well.

    Id suggest making your list of players more readable and organize them by positional eligibility so that we have all the info. The more info you give the better quality of answers you'll get.

    Ie what are giroux and wheelers positional eligibility?

    I’ve repped where I could. Any feedback would help me get off this fence! Positions aren’t super important right now, I’d be ok with a Center in Tavares or a rwer in Rantanen

    Break them into their positions in an organized manner (show all of their positional eligibility) when you have time and I'll revisit. Right now I have to look up way to much and still be uncertain about positions with some of your players.

    Giroux and wheeler were just examples but we'd like to see everyone's. Take it another step further and provide how many fantasy points each player had last season (if your league assigns a point value for each category - if it doesn't then explain the scoring system a bit better).

    This is a really close trade and the little things matter for a competing team. The more info the better and on close ones if you don't provide the info you will often get crickets. At this stage I still have no idea which one I prefer but with the info given my answer hasn't changed, I lean rantanen slightly. If he approached you (which I believe he did) I'd ask for a small add.

    Edit: working through that info yourself and writing it down here can be really benefitial for your own fantasy knowledge. It's helped me in the past with what seemed like difficult decisions at the time. After working through the numbers and writing it out the answer sometimes becomes more clear or even obvious.
