Hindsight I would have held off on Bob and got some cheaper goalies given the prices they ended up going for but initially I had a budget of $35-$40 on goalies so I was happy to get them both at that cost.

Would have liked to use that money to strengthen my D and bench. I know D is my weakness and going to have to be a WW hawk.

Post trade I accepted a trade I gave Quic/Keith for Q. Hughes/Lehner. Surprised he offered me it.

Overall tried to go for upside and ceiling on my bench. I think Donato and Kapanen could be in for big years if they play with the lines they are on in camp.

All in all pleased with my first auction and 16 teams. Other than spending on Bobrovsky and using that money to upgrade the Gally/

I'm hoping you got Hughes and Lehner for Quick and Keith.

Otherwise looks solid. Yes your defence could use some help, but it's not absolutely dire, you have some good pieces that have room to grow.

Your post already describes what you need to do, that is, improve your D as best you can. The trade for Lehner is good. If Crawford goes down for a long period of time, you can then trade a goalie for an elite D-man.

I think you may have overspent on goalies, you are correct your D needs help, Morrissey was a steal , a forward upgrade may also be needed id leverage vasi or bob to try and get a top forward and dman ( obviously vasi or bob plus) ie Barzal, Keith and a goalie for say an Eichel and Subban or something like that (assuming goalies have big value based on what you paid)

don't disagee they should cost but need to be a balanced team. vasi and Bob although great hurts you in the depth forward department. Anyways I agree both are prolly worth what was bid, just think a lesser goalie who faces a ton of shots for cheaper is a better option then probably the 2 best goalies going into next season
