    Default McAvoy or Keith

Hey guys, someone just dropped Duncan Keith to the Waiver Wire pool and I know he is old, but I have seen around here that not too many of the members here are very high on Charlie McAvoy. Should I consider putting a claim in for Duncan Keith as I have the 7th position or should I stick with the younger McAvoy?

McAvoy has managed a point per every other game in each of his first two seasons, and should only be better this year. Keith might be lucky to score at that rate. I think this is an easy McAvoy.

McAvoy has some red flags himself (durability) but he also has immense potential. That's worth something even in a one-year league. If he breaks out he'll deliver big numbers.

I think Duncan Keith is on the downside of his amazing career. Even still he continues to play just about every game which is amazing in itself. He has not hit the 50 point mark though in 2 seasons though and I see that continuing to go down. Charlie McAvoy if he stays healthy I think can produce at a high level. Charlie McAvoy is the guy to stay with.

Unless Gustafsson gets hurt early in the season, I don't think Keith will ever be on the PP1 again. McAvoy all day.

If your league uses SOG and Blks then this gets a lot closer. McAvoy isn’t on Bos PP1 either.
Keith is good for 40pts and still has room for more. That’s where I expect McAvoy to land as well...
    McAvoy will give more hits...
it comes down to 2things for me

    1. roster/cat needs
    2. Waiver priority value.

not sure any upgrade Keith does/could offer is worth WW...
but it’s a lot closer than some responses above make it appear

This answer depends heavily on categories. However, since it's a keeper, I'd keep McAvoy unless a lot of info comes in that favors Keith.

In either event, I wouldn't use your waiver priority. I expect he'll get to the free agent pool.
