Yeah, I guess if you have a farm system or a large bench Dobson would climb to the top, but I would grab a guy or two before him anyways as you can proably still wait a few rounds on the guys that won't play this season.

OP doesn't say if there's a minors or not.

OP said dynasty, so I ranked them based on upside not this season value

Yeah, I guess if you have a farm system or a large bench Dobson would climb to the top, but I would grab a guy or two before him anyways as you can proably still wait a few rounds on the guys that won't play this season.

Boqvist, Adam Fox, Ty Smith, Brannstrom have all gone in the last 25 picks so Minors D man are def going off the board, albeit slowly...

with the team I've drafted so far I'm still torn on adding some higher production vets who may have a few years left, or give it up this year and with an eye towards competing next year

Then I stand by my original post. Dobson has a high ceiling and will offer pretty decent periphs and is the best long term option on your list.
I'll add in here that I might even prefer Rasmus Sandin to Dobson long term.

One potential strategy, if he is still on the board would be to take Byfuglien in the late rounds.
If everyone else is scared off, you risk little by using a late pick - payoff would be massive though
