Dynasty 1.07 Rookie Pick Shesterkin or a F/D?

I just traded for the 1.07 rookie pick with my eye on Shesterkin. I currently own Lundqvist, Vasilievski, Merzlikins and Raanta. I hoped to get Shesterkin with the pick.

However, there are a number of forwards and D-men that should still be available at that pick.

I am thinking the likes of Kravtsov, Dach, Adam Fox, Boqivist, Byram, Cozens, Farabee, Wahlstrom, Texier, Seider and Gusev could still be there depending who gets taken with picks 3-6. Picks 1-3 should be Jack Hughes, Kakko and Makar. Oettinger will probably still be there as far as other G prospects.

Is Shesterkin worth taking over all of those F/D? Those are at least the ones I would be targeting If deciding not to take Shesterkin.

There is a chance of grabbing a G after the draft. Possibly like Francouz, Primeau, Vehvilainen, Kahkonen, Vilalta, Hogberg and Rodrigue. I expect most of them to go in the draft. But I expect that at least 1 or 2 will get overlooked and still be there post draft.

I am still leaning towards Shesterkin though.

In a league where you start 18 skaters but only one goalie, I'd prefer a skater. You're not going to sit Vasilevskiy and you can use the others to spot start when applicable. If it were two goalies, I'd prefer Shestyorkin.

Likely, someone like Woll or Scott will be passed over in the draft.
If you can grab a prospect post-draft - that's what I would do. G's are such a crapshoot. Go do a deep dive researching one.
Gut feeling is that you'll find a comparable one there - Woll, Scott, Nalimov. Kochetkov, Dostal, Tarasov... someone of note will survive the draft.

Yea, that's the main reason I have considered not taking Shesterkin. All though GK is what cost me the title in the championship last year. My opponent was able to cycle his 3 very good GKs during our 2 week final. At that point the Rangers were playing Gorgiev and Raanta was still injured. The extra week final I think adds a bit more value to GK stats. I also dropped Binnington like 2 weeks before he blew up last year and haven't emotionally recovered lol.

There are also some deep dive F/D prospects like McMichael or Dellandrea that could make it past the draft also. But thanks. I am kind of leaning towards your suggestions.

Just out of curiosity, which of those skaters I mentioned would you lean towards? Maybe top 3, they won't all be there at my #7 pick. I was thinking Kravstov, Byram and Dach in that order. But really not sure.

If your roster in the sig is accurate, Byram. Looks like Brannstrom is your only young D who might someday be a 50 pt player.

ah thanks. I don't think Turcotte and Zegras are eligible. At least I don't see them in the Yahoo system. But I will keep that in mind.

Or any new suggestion on who best to draft if passing on Shesterkin?
