With SV% not SV, it is pretty close, especially since Helle isn't a SO machine. I might be inclined to go with Gibson too - I think Anaheim wins enough games to keep that category close enough for Gibson to get the overall edge.
1-year H2H league.
Stats are W, SV% and SO.
Who would you rather: Gibson or Hellebuyck?
I'm leaning towards Gibson, but would like to get feedback.

Tough call but I'll go with Hellebuyck.
Generally speaking I think the expectation is Hellebuyck for wins, Gibson for SV%. It's a tough call but knowing how volatile the league can be I probably go Gibson. There seems to be a lot more optimism radiating from Anaheim right now and last year the team was gutted by injuries and inept coaching. If Winnipeg's defence shows it can hold up after losing so much experience, Laine and Connor sign and things get brighter I'd swing back to Hellebuyck.
Thanks for the feedback guys. I went with my gut Gibson in the end. I don't like the look of the depleted Jets D and potential locker room issues with Laine.
Also, Anaheim lost 19 of 21 last year, so they can't be that bad again right?

I do think Helly goes back to his 2 years ago form. I would go with him.

It's a pretty close call, but I think I would prefer Gibson for two major reasons: (1) the respective defense corps of each team definitely gives the edge to Anaheim. The Jets could conceivably be losing Byfuglien, too, in addition to Trouba and Myers already; and (2) Anaheim has a fantastic off-night schedule, with 46 of their games falling on M/W/F/Sun as opposed to 33 such games for Winnipeg. Gibson will have fewer conflicts with your other netminders, especially in a weekly-start context, and should be playing in front of a much better defense group.
There's also the fact that Gibson is just a better goaltender in a vacuum. If he hadn't been injured last season, he was a popular MVP candidate among the analytically inclined goalie gurus.
Both guys should get you low-end #1 goalie numbers, given their respective deficiencies (mostly related to team quality); however, they are both definitely 55+ start goaltenders with reliable track records -- they are both very valuable goalies.
