Prospect to protect

Hello everyone,

We finished our draft this weekend and I have 2 questions for you

1) I drafted Batherson, Comtois and Tolvanen as security and only have one spot in my farm (protected automatically) and the 2 other would be my backups (can't be protected next season). My question is which one would have the best upside in the future and he won't have a big impact this season?

2) Also, I have other prospects that have 3 years left : Necas, Robertson, Hayton and R. Andersson. Do you think that other available prospects could be a better choice?

1) Can you wait until the end of camp and see who's making the immediate impact?

2) I would take Kaprizov over Andersson.

2) I would drop Robertson and Andersson and pick up Kyrou and Kaprizov. I would have Kyrou ranked ahead of all of Comtois, Batherson and Tolvanen as well.

Q1. Wait until end of preseason. But, I'd say Tolvanen has the higher upside and less chance of making an impact this year.

Q2. I also like Kyrou and Kaprizov over Andersson and Robertson.

It might be a little too much to ask him : he is darn slow plus he might not track top 6, let alone PP1.

I wouldn't drop Robertson. The gap between him and Kaprisov probably won't be very big. Immediate impact of Kaprisov when he comes over will be more significant than Robertson next season - if that's a consideration.

I Prefer all of Hayton, Comtois, Kaprizov, Necas and Knight to Tolvanen and Batherson. Actually, probably a few more on there like Farabee, Kyrou, Zegras Velano, Heponiemi and Suzuki as well.

I would try to trade Batherson and Tolvanen if possible. Anderson and Robertson might be inconsequential relative to some of these other players. I might consider moving them as well if there is any hype around them in your league. I don't think you'd go wrong with any I have listed though. Kaprizov, Knight, Zegras and Kyrou would be the 4 main guys you don't have that I would target. But the others are good second options. If you don't need or want to wait on a GK, can exclude Knight probably. Goalies are tough to predict. But he probably overtakes Samsanov as the best GK prospect in the league. Longer term, I think he's the best GK prospect since Vasilievsky.

Hold on to Comtois, Necas and Hayton if you can. I think both will turn into really good players eventually and their value will rise relative.

Tolvanen especially I think is overhyped. I don't believe he has the ceiling many think he does. At least I think his chances of reaching that, especially in Nashville, are low. I think you could get more than he will be worth in a deal. Batherson I am not sure if has as high trade value. I like him to be a nice player but not sure he has the ceiling of others.

I like Comtois, but honestly I don't think you can go wrong with the others as well.

Kaprizov would be someone I would grab out of the available prospects.
