Askarov would not be in my top 10 for goalie prospects at this point in his career. He's way too far away from being in the NHL. He has yet to play a game in his life against a person who can legally drink. Let's give him a bit more time before we put him too high up on any prospects lists.
He's played two regular season games in the VHL (1.85 / .956) and also had a shutout in his preseason debut. The VHL is a professional league, it's like the second-tier KHL. A pretty good start for a 17-year old.
