Default keeper goalie question (auction draft) - rep given

For league in signature, my question is whether to keep Quick as my third goalie

    1. 12 team league
    2. 18 player roster
    3. 7 skater categories and 4 goalie cats (w/gaa/sav%/shutouts)
    4. $260 budget - auction draft
    5. I can keep quick for $7 as my third goalie behind Hellebuyck ($13) and Raanta ($6).
    6. I like to have 4 goalies on my roster given that 40% of our cats are goalie cats.
    7. Top goalies go for $40+ in the draft.

This pretty much solidifies my goalies for the year. I would pick up someone like Saros, etc. for $1.

Sounds like you pretty much have to keep Quick given the price and the importance of goalies. Also sounds like Quick would go for much more than $7 in this years auction so keeping him is a good value.

What other skaters or goalies do you have as options for keepers?
12 team H-2-H 1 year league, daily roster changes, 3 goalie start minimum/week

I'd want to see the rest of the options you have. Quick at $7 is a solid value, but if you can get Saros that cheap, I'd prefer 2 of those sorts of guys and keep some skater. But that is very goalie heavy lineup, so I might want quick anyway.
10 team Head-to-head true dynasty. Roster 33, draft 2, cut down before season. Start 1 G, 1-2 backup G's, 6 D, 12 F arranged in 4 lines of 3. Only categories that matter are Goals, Assists, Save% with a shutout bonus. Having NHL teammates helps.

    G: Bobrovsky
    Backup G: F Andersen
D: Ekblad, Yandle, M Reilly, Carlson, Klingberg, Letang
    F1: Couturier, Giroux, Voracek
    F2: Schiefele, Wheeler, Guentzel
    F3: Benn, Seguin, Pavelski
    F4: Stamkos, Tavares, MacKinnon

    Bench:
    Injured: Point
    G: Holtby
    D: Gardiner, Gustafsson, Makar, Morrissey
F: Bailey, Bertuzzi, Cirelli, Johnsson, Labanc, JT Miller, Necas
    Reserve: Datsyuk

I think I'm along these lines of thinking. Before saying 'keep Quick' - knowing the draftable options is important.
Also, if you DON'T keep Quick.... who could you keep instead? or would you sub someone?

My other options would be to keep Skinner for $17 (probably can draft him for that or less) or Niederreiter for $8; that's about it. I don't have to keep 4 people - could just do Helle, Raanta and Hedman

man , I'd be asking the league commish to change the shutout cat to saves . I find its a good way to even the playing field v.s the save pctg / g.a.a

Seems like keeping Quick is the right choice.

Hmm. With those options, Quick is a decent keep, but so is Neiderreiter - his role in Carolina is much improved.

I like neiderreiter's new role also.
I would role the dice in either your draft or FA for another goalie.
Quick will have poor stats in almost all your categories.
I've seen it many of times where managers can keep a certain numbers of players (but dont have to)but they feel obligated to go ahead and do it.
I like the extra cash ( if an auction) or open roster spot to draft a player.
People take for granted an open roster spot.
