    Default Burns for Eric Karlsson

Planned on keeping Carlson and Karlsson

    I received two recent offers.
My Eric Karlsson for Burns. This one I’ve got to accept, right ?

And my Jones for Hedman. I think I prefer Hedman to Carlson as a Keeper.

    Thoughts ?

I want to hear this answer as well (for my own selfish reasons). LOL

Last year I traded an injured Karlsson for a healthy Burns to help my playoff push. I am curious to know the group-think of how that is going to look this season.

Burns for Eric is an easy accept for me. Karlsson is still elite with the Sharks but I think injuries, Burns also being there and age have dropped him from "the only tier-1 D-man" to a "tier 1 Dman". Burns is safer and picks up healthy totals in the grit as well as points.

Also, as I understand your post it's 2 years of Hedman or 1 year of Carlson? I slightly prefer Hedman so I think the extra year is a bonus.

I really like Karlsson as a player. However I keep thinking he is still the game changer he was in Ottawa.

Burns just contributes to more categories.

Lawman. We can only place the keeper tag on a player twice. Keeping Carlson this year means I would have to trade him by next years draft or he goes back into the draft

Obtaining Hedman allows me to keep him this year and next ( if I choose to do so).
That's what I thought. So you trade Jones (non-keeper currently) for Hedman (2-years max).
Now you can keep Hedman (2) or Carlson (1)?
They are close but twice as many years for Hedman is what I prefer. I assume the guy moving Hedman would lose him for nothing so this is the best deal he can get for Hedman?

I would pull the trigger on both and keep Hedman and Burns for two seasons. Burns > Karlsson at the moment with injuries plaguing the former-Sen, and I'd take two years of Hedman over a year of Carlson any day of the week.

Hamilton is also a really strong dark horse keeper option in this format if he's a two-year option. You could trade Hedman and Carlson for a major package of picks and still keep Hamilton + Burns and have two 400+ fantasy point D-men.

I pulled the trigger on Karlsson for Burns.

Before I could pull the trigger on Jones for Hedman, he was traded to another team.

Good job on getting Burns. I was going to advice you to do so. As for Hedman, maybe you can try to persuade the another tema's GM to give you Victor?!
