    Default Keeper help!

13 team, Salary Cap (NHL cap), Keep 8 league
    12F, 4D, 2G, up to 3 bench
    G/A(1) PPG(2) PPA(1) SHG(2) GWG(1) PIM(0.2) SOG(0.1) ... W(3) OTL(1) SO(5)

I won the league last year therefore I have really good keepers and tough decisions to take. I already traded away Tarasenko already for a 1st rd pick.
So far I have decided on 4 keepers (Pettersson, Keller, Heiskanen and M. Jones). They are all cheap players who will be gold this year (I don't like Jones but he gets the W)

Now I have to select 4 guys out of:
    • Bergeron (6.8M)
    • Marner (likely 10M)
    • Seguin (9.5M)
    • Malkin (9.5M)
    • Radulov (6.2M)
    • Teravainen (5.4M)
    • Karlsson (11.5M)
    • Gibson (6.2M)

Who would you select to get the best bang for your buck.
I'm also actively shopping these guys around to see what the return would be.

I think I agree with this, even though Marner is a risk -- both in terms of cost and potential holdout.

Marner is probably the guy with the most interest from other GMs and given this league is goal heavy (G, PPG, SHG, GWG, SOG by extension), he's a bit less valuable.

intrigue builds... curious to know the offers..

even at 10m - Marner offers the best bang for buck vs. Seguin/Malkin/EK

TT is really good value at 5.4m but I think he tops out at 80pts and he can't be ignored because of that contract.
Whereas, at 10m - Marner has 110pt potential.. if not more.

I'd shop him if that's the case. See what the offers coming back look like.

Teravainen is my #1 keep for you, the others are somewhat flexible, lots of guys in same contract area,

I managed to get Ovechkin (9.5M), a 1st round pick this year (9th overall) + a pick upgrade in 2020 (4th rd vs 8th rd).
Considering our CATS, I believe I've won this trade for the next 2-3 years. When Ovy starts to really slow down is when he'll get the edge.

Now I've been offered a trade by the same owner but in a different league (league in sig)
    He's offering Stone (7.3M) + Labanc (1M for 1 year) + 2019 2nd rd pick (21st overall) + pick upgrade in 2020 (like 4th rd vs 7th rd).

Not too too sure on this one. Yes it helps me this year because of Labanc's cap hit but I won't be keeping him past this season.
Chances for my selection with the 2nd rd pick to be a keeper are also slim.

Therefore, the trade ends up being: is Stone @$7.3M better value than Marner @$10-11M?

    Note:
I'm going for the championship this year

Nice work on the first deal.

I like that second deal for you if you are going for it. If Stone + Labanc don't outperform Marner this year, one of them likely got hurt, and/or Marner went bonkers and signed before the season. there's also a real chance Labanc turns into a keeper for you, plus you get a solid pick that you can use on a cheap guy aiming to find another keeper.

What about Couturier ($4.3M) + Mantha ($3.3M with 1 year left) for Marner?
Could try to squeeze in a pick in my favour too (although it wouldn’t be a 2nd rd pick)
