Dougie Hamilton

Hi guys,

My roto league plays G, A, Shots, PPP, Hits, Blocks, PIMs, Takeaways.

Owning Dougie is tough sometimes! What are your thoughts on him over next 1-2 years. his goals and shots are super and he started throwing hits last year which is great for my league. Do you think he stays at Carolina? Can he get PP1 time? Im abroad and possibly miss some of the news and comments on this guy.

FHG and Dobber tell me I have to keep him, but it is at the expense of Muzzin and Arvidsson.

I do think he can stay in Carolina and I like him to eventually take that pp1 spot but I don't know when that's going to happen. Hopefully it happens in September but faulk seems to have a never ending leash.

Hamilton had a significantly better second half but what's a bit concerning is he did it with less power play time than the first half where he was averaging over two minutes per game. The second half he was well under 2 pp min per game.

He's great with your cats regardless of him being a 39 point or 50 point d man. Obviously 50 is better and I think it's very possible for Hamilton in Carolina.

I'm keeping him over muzzin and with arvidsson it may depend more on your team's positional needs but in a vacuum I like Hamilton.

To echo MZac's comments, I believe Hamilton will stay in Carolina and that Faulk is the one more likely to be dealt, or leave via Free Agency.

Even if Faulk sticks around in Carolina, I feel Hamilton will eventually supplant him and run the top PP unit.

I'd certainly keep Hamilton over Muzzin (Muzzin's offensive production took a huge hit when Barrie landed in TO). Arvidsson is a great player, capable of 65-70 pts (35-40 goals). It is hard to say if you should keep Arvidsson or Hamilton; it will depend on your team's positional needs (as MZac mentioned). If you are equally deep at both positions, it might come down to determining which player (Arvidsson or Hamilton) you can more easily trade. I personally hate dropping a bubble player and prefer to deal the player to recoup an asset.

I will also echo that every effort should be made to keep Hamilton in this format.
I can see the argument in maybe keeping Arvidsson, depending on your team's needs, but I would still try my best to keep Dougie.
He's a beast in multicat. And we all know that his ceiling is higher than 39 points.

I definitely prefer Hamilton to both Muzzin and Arvidsson individually, but I'm also curious about this. Why would you have to drop both?

With your settings, Hamilton is going to be a monster. Carolina is on the rise and so is Dougie.

Thanks so much for the replies guys. I have to hold Dougie and hope he can get that PP1. I also had Faulk last year but will be dropping him.
