Even though a large part of fantasy goalie value is team defense, I'd still prefer Lehner in a dynasty league. I'm a believer in the long-term value, and Chicago's defense should be much improved from last season. de Haan and Maatta aren't exactly sexy names but they should help solidify that back end and bring some depth to a group that was severely lacking last season.

    Keith-Gustafsson
    de Haan-Seabrook
    Maatta-Murphy

It's not great, but it's an improvement. Keith-Gustafsson should be an average top pair, and I think if de Haan and Maatta are the next highest defense in terms of ice time, they could have something decent here. If they can limit the exposure for Seabrook, this defense corps could stay above water. It really sucks they got rid of Jokiharju, as their top-four would be looking pretty solid if he replaced Seabrook, but it's easily a better group than they iced at any point last year.

I think Lehner is a better goalie and has more upside, so I'd lean to him in a dynasty set up.

That said, I also think there is more risk with Lehner this year. (Crawford should provide much stronger competition than Reimer). And Mrazek has contract protection and stability for 2 years, while Lehner only has 1 year.

But I'd still roll the dice on Lehner.

Two of my least favorite goalies in the league. I don't trust either guy.

I'm going against the grain and going to recommend Mrazek here. I think Carolina offers a much better chance for Mrazek to be successful compared to Lehners situation in Chicago for this season.
