Kotkaniemi vs. DeAngelo

Is Kotkaniemi ever going to live up to how high he was drafted? As a Habs fan, I know the depth chart is not his friend right now.

I’m low on D at the moment, would JK for DeAngelo be a good move or no? I’ve seen a lot of mixed reviews on DeAngelo.

He's coming off his rookie season. I think he was drafted for his all-around play, not purely offense. He seemed fine last year, and I trust hi swork ethic more than DeAngelo, by a lot. I'd keep Kotkaniemi.

If you mean Domi & Dannault? I don't see either as threats to keep Kotkan from taking the #1C job as soon as he's ready to snipe it.
Mtl will let him grow into that role, but as soon as he demonstrates he deserves it - there's nothing stopping him. He's in a perfect situation.
I prefer Kotkan to DeAngelo personally

I don't see Roslovic being enough to get it done. the OGM likely feels as though DeAngelo is primed to finally break out and stick in the NHL. There's a chance Trouba has soured him and he's willing to move on...

It would really help to see your whole roster. There must be options between Roslovic & Kotkaniemi to offer.

I say it is worth hanging on to Kotkaniemi and his upside. Deangelo likely more easily replaceable.

Kotka for me. Has great potential and way younger. He's going to be great. Deangelo has good upside, but he's older and there's others like him
