Love this as a first question because Trocheck was born in the town I'm from, a suburb south of Pittsburgh.

I'm thinking he's probably going to be in the 50s next year, and going forward as long as Hoffman is around and keeping him off of the PP1. I'd guess anywhere from 50-60 points is a reasonable projection.

Tortorella loves his veterans, so part of me thinks that Korpisalo probably starts with the upper hand. He doesn't have a long leash, though, and it's basically going to be a hot hand situation until someone emerges. I personally don't think Korpisalo has the goods, so I would take a shot on Merzlikins and just see what happens. Plus, he's got a very cool name so there is always that.

I don't really know much about him other than the couple games I caught from the World Juniors. He looked pretty good there as a 19 year old, and it looks like his MHL and VHL numbers were both solid. He just turned 20, so he could be closer than some other recently drafted prospects, but he definitely needs to add some strength before that's a possibility. I think it's also kinda unfortunate that he was drafted by a team like Carolina with such a deep, talented prospect pool. There are like a million guys ahead of him, so I think a reasonable projection for the short term would be to hope that (1) he plays a more prominent role in the KHL this upcoming season, and (2) he transitions to the North American pro game within a couple seasons. There definitely could be a player here, but it's definitely a longer term project at this point.

Give me your thoughts on Grubauer this season. Is he a keeper over Murray. 2W +3 SO.

That's a tough call, and I'm known to like Murray more than most around here. I think he's pretty easily a top-10 keeper league option, in points-only type leagues and the more general categories. He's been top 10 Sv% league wide two of out his three seasons as a starter, and he is still the #1 goalie for the Penguins. I like Grubauer, and I think he is absolutely for real on a rising team, but I'm still not keeping him over a guy like Murray.
