I prefer Cernak right now, as he should have an increased role on the TB blueline and he's already a great option for the grit categories. It's usually preferable to get the value now, and Cernak is the guy who has immediate value.
Should I pick Cernak in upcoming draft but would have to drop Hague to make a room on my prospect roster (Cernak still qualifies as a prospect in my league).

I almost view them very identical in a nutshell. Tons of shots, hits, a moderate amount of points and Blocks. Obviously Cernak has a leg up already thus a dilemma. But I am hesitant here as Hague may have a better opportunity in a season or two as he doesn’t have to fight off Hedman and Sergachev. Theodore would be the only competition for Hague and even then , not sure if they’re playing on a same side.
Thx

I own both. Our setups are not greatly different. I would keep Cernak over Hague. We know Cernak is a top 4 D on TBL this year and going forward. His minutes are going to go up. He shoots a decent amount for a defensive D. He will score points by osmosis. And he will rack up mad periphs. I wouldnt mind seeing a few more penalty minutes. Radko Gudas emerged onto TB several years ago and was a destroyer for a couple of seasons in multi-cat. I am feeling confident Cernak is going to have a big impact in the right scoring systems.
Cernak 100%
If you're drafting Cernak to be in your minors and not on your main roster, I'd just keep Hague. I see a much better upside in that kid compared to Cernak. I see Hague as a future 3/4 Dman where as Cernak us a bottom pairing guy.

Thanks to all for responding! I think I will compromise here. I’ll try to draft Cernak in a 2d round ( 5 rounds prospect draft , 12 teams league) and keep Hague. But I’ll have to forfeit my last pick in a 5th round. I haven’t planned to do this originally as I’d prefer to draft extra forward but I’ve learned during my FH escapades that there’s no such thing as “Too many D-men”. lol
