With Brannstrom and Miller gone I feel really confident about Theodore this year. Im thinking 45 points, possibly more.

With these two as mentioned out of the way, his only competition on the PP is Schmidt. Even if he gets PP2 time, still reasonable to think Theodore is in the 40-50 point range. If PP2 time, could be higher.

Most will expect big season from Thoedore but I wont reach for him thats for sure. I prefer having someone who is more proven.. Around 41-45 points for him is what I expect.

yeah, 40-45 pts seems right...I wouldn't "reach" for him but 40-45 pts would be a big season for him. I don't know how many people could honestly expect more than that from him.

Everyone seems to be quite low on Theodore. I'll play devil's advocate, here's why he could reach 50 this year...
1- He should be the go-to guy on PP1 and move up to 3 minutes a game instead of his 2:25 from last year.
2- His possession numbers are absolutely ridiculous.
3- Players with his skill level usually score about 10 more than the expected goals for at 5 on 5. Theodore is a huge exception with his team scoring 54 goals at 5 on 5 when 71 were expected. That's 17 below average. (for comparison's sake, Chabot's team scored 17 more than expected at 5 on 5 when he's on the ice)
4- If he were involved on the same % of goals at 5v5 for those 17 points, that's 9 points more he should have got on average which would put him at 46 over 79 games. That's not even accounting for players of his level scoring above average usually.

I think a lot of you are sleeping on him, big time.

There's nobody standing in the way of the minutes and prime time deployment with a bevy of super-talented forwards, and he's consistently smashed possession and expected goals metrics over a very large sample size. This one seems like a no-brainer to me.

I don't know, maybe you're right ... it doesn't really seem like a lot of folks are particularly high on Theodore. There was that thread yesterday asking if Jimmy Schuldt was going to take over the PP1 ... so I mean, yeah. I think you're right.

Looked good in the WC. Has the talent and walks the line beautifully on the PP. I don’t really see anyone who could challenge him for minutes. I think 45 is the realistic expectation with more than a coin flip’s chance at 55.
