    Points-only rank for 2019-20:

    Rielly
    Hedman
    Gustafsson
    Krug
    Barrie
    Ekman-Larsson
    Hronek
    ...
Byram (probably won't be in the NHL)

Really, every guy above Ekman-Larsson has a real decent likelihood of reaching 60+ points. Rielly, Hedman, Gustafsson, and Krug should be locks for that kind of production, barring injuries. Tyson Barrie is a bit of a risk, but I think he's being seriously underrated right now in Toronto. In points-only leagues, he's still easily one of the top defensemen and I'm betting he comes close to 60 points again. Ekman-Larsson has some rebound potential with Kessel in town, and the development of some of the younger guys, but his pure offensive upside isn't really on the same level as the guys above him. He's a better multi-cat option with shots and hits. Hronek has an outside shot of cracking 40 points, but Mike Green is still in the way of the prime PP minutes. Byram ... won't be in the NHL in my opinion.

*Bowan is a wild card and depending on whether or not the team is looking to rebuild or compete immediately, Bowan could be as high as #3 on this list. My current ranking is based on a team looking to compete immediately. If the team was in a rebuild, I'd put him 3rd.

I can agree with these tiers, although I think I'd probably slide Ekman-Larsson down below Krug-Barrie in his own separate tier. Points wise, I don't think he's on the same level as Krug and Barrie. Also, it's interesting seeing all the Gustafsson love around the forums. People seem to be expecting big things. Love it.

Actually I would put Ekman-Larsson even higher. I think he now that Kessel is in the team, Schmaltz is healthy and Keller(expect a nice bounce backseason), is capable on putting over 50 points this upcoming season. That PP unit should be very good on paper?!

Krug paced for 68pts last season and 63 the season before. Underrated as hell. He's up around the Hedman tier in my books.

OEL isn't near that tier IMO.

I'll throw in my own variation of the above tiers

    Rielly
    Hedman-Gustafsson-Krug
    Barrie

OEL - a solid tier or even two below the rest. Esp. as a pts only pool

Hronek - He's no where near worth inclusion with the others on this list.

50 points for OEL is a fair estimate, and definitely doable with the improved personnel -- but Krug/Barrie are 60-point defensemen. At least that's the pace at which they've been scoring for the past 2-3 seasons.

I like this list. I see a drop from Gustafsson and see Barrie right up there with Hedman & Rielly... ahead of Krug.

I've got Krug 2nd below Hedman personally. I'm even tempted to put him ahead of Hedman. 68pt pace last year playing with a Boston top line and PP1 that just keeps getting better and better. 63pt pace the year before and that's after a slow start coming back from that face injury he had. Seems the guy would have to go PPG to get any recognition.

Hedman seems to be losing touches since the emergence of Point on the TB powerplay, it looks like Kuch, Stamkos and Point playing tic tac toe a lot of the time. Wouldn't surprise me a bit to see Krug match or even outpace him in. Talking pace here as well as actual points because it's a safe bet one or both will miss at least a bit of time over the season.

Rielly more likely drops to 60 or so IMO. His high sh% means fewer goals for himself this year and other things like 5on5 sh% need to come down some as well. However I still expect him to get more prime opportunities than Barrie since he's the trusted option and the long time Leaf. To a coach like Babcock that means something and just because a better PP guy shows up it doesn't mean he'll lose his PP1 spot right away (see Hamilton waiting behind Faulk in Carolina). The only reason I can see Barrie taking that spot is because of his right shot. Otherwise it's Rielly's as far as I'm concerned. We'll have to see what happens in camp.

My top tier for this coming season:

    Krug/Hedman (65pt pace)
    Rielly (60pt - w/PP1)
    Barrie (50pt - w/PP2)

Flip-flop Rielly and Barrie depending on who gets the top unit.
