If I had to rank all 31 (expected) starters/1As, Markstrom, Hutton and Koskinen would all be in my bottom 5... I agree with others that Markstrom is probably the least bad option.

(btw, the other two in my bottom 5 are Craig Anderson and Jimmy Howard)

Just curious where you ranked the "1a" for Columbus...

I was thinking of targeting Markstrom since there are so many 1A/1B tandems now... once studs or could be studs have had their fantasy values squashed by the new NHL's "rest your horse" theory that seems to work for the marathon season and hopefully long post season too. Look at how we value Rask, Lehner, Crawford, Lundqvist, Rinne now... I only count about 18 true #1s, leaving 13 1A/1B dilemmas... I just can't see Markstrom any lower than the top 18 goalies right now.

The fact that he's got Demko (and even DiPietro) waiting in the wings makes him a slightly risky option, Demko in parcitular should be eating into his workload very soon.

Curious about thoughts on these two as well... Have to believe the teams in front of them improved quite a bit.

I'd give Schneider a go. I think Lundqvist is going to be capped around 45 starts given his age and the other talented netminders behind him who need to get looks so the organization can evaluate them properly. With Shesterkin and Georgiev both needing action, I don't think Lundqvist is going to start a ton of games. Schneider is still the guy with the big contract in New Jersey, and their defense group is looking surprisingly decent with the addition of Subban. Hopefully he can parlay his successful world championships performance into some nice play to start the season, as New Jersey should be much improved with Hughes + Subban + a healthy Taylor Hall. This should be a pretty good team.
