Who is the heir apparent to Gio in Calgary ? Like both these guys, do we see a future PP1 QB with either of them ?

Hard to predict the future but I do like Valimaki more if only by a little.

I'll put in another vote for Valimaki. It's all just speculation, but I think I like Valimaki slightly more.

3 for 3 for throwing a dart at Valimaki.

Rasmus is the best! But probably Valimaki. Rasmus has arguably a harder shot, but Valimaki has a little bit better decision making and is better at getting his shots through.

    I'll also take Valimaki here.
But I wonder if Hanifin has something to say about this??
They did give up Hamilton AND Fox in exchange...

I think Hanifin is more of their well rounded guy while one of the young guys takes the PP reins.

Nah. For a guy who's strengths are supposed to be with the puck, he makes some baffling decisions with it on his stick. Valimaki and Andersson are already better players with the puck on their sticks than Hanifin.

I feel like Valimaki is the closest thing to a Gio clone that we're gonna get, so I'd say he's the heir apparent to Gio. I also think that was part of the thinking in drafting him.

    Thanks for enlightening me.
I'm pretty sure everyone in my points-only league values Hanifin more than Jusso.

I don't blame them. I do too but that wasn't the question posed here.

What about Kylington? Can this guy be an offensive stud?

As a devoted flames fan I can say the jury’s still out on Kylington. He definitely has the offensive potential and his skating is awesome too. The rest of his game needs work tho. But there’s a reason the flames are making room for all three of them and a guy like Brodie is expendable. Kylington will optimistically be a great offensive d but I wouldn’t expect it for another couple seasons.

Vali and Andersson is tough for me. We only saw a limited amount of Valimaki but he looked legit. Andersson was just as good over course of the year and just got better. Valimaki has the higher ceiling but Andersson seems like the kinda guy that will keep pushing his ceiling higher. Hard to pick out of the two. I can happily say you probably couldn’t go wrong with either.

Really happy as a flames fan with these three studs and their potential right now.

It's Valimaki for me, but by a hair. I'm a big fan of his though, think he's a stud. Add in Andersson, Hanifan, nd Kylington and it's an exciting top 4 moving forwards for Calgary. Wonder what they'll get for Brodie?
