Default R.Hintz ..what's he become, REP given!

Hey all, I picked up Hintz in a 16 team league, h2h multicat including hits.

he is slated on the 2nd line to start the year, what kind of goal/point totals do you project, is he the real deal?

With arrival of pavelski i think he will be a 3rd line C (seguin and pavelski will prob C 1st and 2nd lines)

I think hintz will be 45-50 pts player next year with some multicat potential but nothing out of ordinary (150sog 115hits)

Ya, I also agree that Pavelski pushes him down, but the kid has a really good upside. I can see him being somewhere in the 35-40pt range for the next couple years but once Pavelski moves on, if he can snag that 2C spot, he could boost his production up to 50-60pt range.

Thanks for replies. I have been scouring Dallas stars hf boards and every poster has hintz centering the 2nd line with pavelski on rw. I think the feeling here is that pav will still take the draw but hintz will play center as he's younger and faster and move the slower pavelski to rw were he could be more effective. My own opinion is I find that is the deployment, 55-60 pts should be attainable

he may get 2nd line deployment at ES. It could be fluid though, I could see him between the 2nd and 3rd line as the lines shuffle thru the year. He ended the year well last year because he was playing with the big boys and was getting some PP1 time. With pavelski in the fold, I don't think he's gonna get that PP1 time with Seguin, Benn, Pavelski, Radulov, Klingberg. And they probably play 1:59 of the 2 minute powerplay. So I'd take that into account too.

He really cranked it up in the last quarter playing in the top 6 and was on a 50+ point pace.

I had him pretty high in my draft for this year but he has certainly dropped now.

he cranked it up once he took Zuccarello's spot in the lineup. That is now occupied by Pavelski.

    ... a star.....he has become a star.... a Dallas Star!

Was he drafted as a Centre or a Wing? Could he not play wing on the 2nd line?

    Making the top 6:

    Benn - Seguin - Radulov
Hintz - Pavelski - Perry (or someone else!)

Then you have Hanzal of Faksa as your 3C?

I was about to write basically the same thing PH did. I can see Hintz and Pavelski alternating draws when they are on their strong side. Seguin and Benn do this alot already. I dont see any reason to think Hintz will fall off. He hasnt been replaced, he has been reinforced.

I like how this top 6 looks. The think is that at this point no one knows if Hintz or Pavelski will play the 2nd line C.

I'm not sure how you keep Hintz out of this top-six, especially with guys like Faksa and Hanzal to occupy the bottom-six Center spots. I think he's going to have a really good season, like 50 points. Might not seem like a whole lot, but that's going to be without PP1 time. Perhaps we'll see something like this:

    Benn-Seguin-Radulov
    Dickinson-Hintz-Pavelski
    Gurianov-Faksa-Perry
    Cogliano-Hanzal-Janmark

Hintz will remain 2C with Pavelski on his wing. Roope's the real deal

Wasn't Pavelski always on Thornton's wing (and/or Couture's)? I never imagined Pavelski taking a C spot on this team.

I think Hintz stays on the 2nd line, but definitely drops on the PP front, don't think he get's any PP1 time. I think 50 pts is a safe bet.
