Fair... I’ve picked up players for same reasoning - Two Arizona Coyotes last year - simply because I was traveling there and would have more fun with a fantasy “stake.” Just I could drop them 3 days later! I hope Giordano plays as well in ‘19-‘20.

For a 1-year setting, I see no real downside in drafting Giordano as an elite #1 multi-cat D who should be within the top five at the position. He's going to reprise the same role, with the same minutes, and he doesn't really have a ton of career GP for his age. He should be able to cruise to 60 points eating up PP1 minutes with all the studs in Calgary and stuffing the stat sheet with shots, hits, blocks, PPP, PIM, etc.

I wouldn’t touch him with a ten foot pole in a dynasty league, but for our purposes he seemed like he would be a good stat-stuffer, plus on the local team!
