i have two picks left in my draft...i'm in a big rebuild.

i have two picks left and need thoughts on who to grab....i have 6 guys in mind but im not sure who to take (not sure if they will be there also) or if there is someone else i should take a shot on. not worried about D prospects as i loaded up on them last year and have marker, Bouchard, and Dobson

You are doing great so far. So Im not a big prospect guy but I can tell you if you pick Afanasyev you are not gonna regret that decision. He may need some time to develop because hes that typical power forward though. He is a very good all around player on the offensive end. His playmaking ability is what sets him apart from the field and we are talking a guy who is already 6'4, 201pounds. He controls the puck very well with his big body and has excellent vision, especially around the net. He has a quick, powerful wrist shot, along with a very good slap shot. His only weakness is defense.
If he develops properly he could be a second liner at even strength, with the ability to play an important role in front of the net on the power play.

Stylisticly his game is similar to JVR. Some are saying his floor is Lucic.

If you listen to his interviews you are not gonna guess that he is a Russian for sure. He is in the 5% of Russians that actually can speak english and sound like an American.(my personal opinion) And this kid is in the US for just 2 and a half year I think. He is such a positive guy too.

Hmm ... it's interesting to see the love for Afanasyev on these forums. He's a very talented prospect, very raw at this stage, but I think I prefer some of the other guys. I'd rank them:

Robertson
Puistola
Fagemo
Afanasyev
Rees

Obviously depends a little bit on the categories, but assuming we're just looking for highest offensive upside I really like Robertson from this group. Not the greatest skater, but he's very intelligent player with elite puck skills and an incredible shot. Could end up a very proficient scoring winger. Ditto for Puistola who also boasts elite puck skills and a plus shot. Fagemo is yet another goal-scoring winger whose best attributes are his hockey sense and shot.

Afanasyev just strikes me as a total wild card. He could end up being the best of the bunch, or he could never put it all together.

I like Afanaseyev and Puistola out of that bunch. Afanaseyev was already covered, Puistola, I think he needs some time to develop but the tools are all there, could be steal.
