Assess My Rebuild After Year One - REP

Hey all,

I'm in a 30 team, full keepers, salary cap dynasty league (we negotiate our own salaries) and I just completed my first season in charge. Salary cap is $58 million. I am rebuilding the team, spent last year trading my old guys off for picks and prospects. Was hoping you wonderful people could give me an assessment of how it's looking, where it's heading, and where to go next. Rep to anyone I can give it to.

Derek Stepan $4,000,000 (2020)
Bo Horvat - Needs to be resigned this year

Mike Hoffman - $4,350,000 (2021)

What makes it hard to evaluate this is I have no idea what the salaries are on any of these players. Someone like Stepan could be great, or lousy, depending upon how much of your cap he's taking up.

But more generally, for a 30 team league, you've got a lot of good building blocks.

As mentioned earlier, some nice prospects and picks 5 and 6 will be good players. If you are in full rebuild mode, I would look at moving Stepan and Hoffman for more quality picks/prospects (if you could get more 1st rounders next year, 2020, that would be ideal as it is a super deep draft and more chances to get A. Lafreniere).

My favourite position is defence (both NHL and prospects).
