Long time follower, first time poster. Great information to be had here! Thank you in advance.
I am in a salary cap league (81.5) and trying to rank the following players (in a vacuum, not worried about positions or rest of my team). Considering a trade with another owner, and he has all of these guys:
Hertl (5.625)
E. Lindholm (4.85)
Couturier (4.33)
Teravainen (5.4)
Offensive categories are G, A, PTS, PPP, SOG. My team is in a win now mode, but with all of these players being relatively young and on three+ year terms, some thought to the next couple of years can be given also. Thanks.

With just offensive cats (no hits, PIMs, etc.) Lindholm is the clear favourite for me. I love Hertl, but I just need to see one more year of similar point production to be sold.......same with Teravainen.

It would, but I love his situation more than the others. I also think that Lindholm is the best pure offensive player out of the 4 mentioned and has a very attractive cap hit. Thanks for making me clarify my post, haha, it was a little misleading.

They are all four newly "broken out" players, so it is hard to decide. Couturier has the cheapest contract (after two strong seasons, I think he needs to be treated confidently as a 70+ point player), but Hertl is most in line for an increased role next year. Lindholm shouldn't have top line competition, and if the entire top end of that team didn't stop scoring the last few weeks of the regular season, he could have been at 85+ points. Carolina continues to add nice pieces to their team, so TT is certain to have quality line mates in all situations.

I like Lindholm that most; he's in a great spot and he's locked into that salary for 5 years. Hertl and Courturier will likely get big dumps after 3 years.

I think I'm taking Turbo here, followed by Couturier, and then Hertl/Lindholm close to eachother. Turbo is a legitimate play driver (4 consecutive seasons with >70% IPP, among other things), with a ceiling that he hasn't hit yet. Couturier is proven, and with Philly's prospect depth, he's only going to get more support. Hertl and Lindholm both have underlying numbers that scream regression. Lindholm only got 9 points in his final 19 games, and had a career high shooting%. His on ice sh% was also above 10, which is quite high. Hertl shot at 20% last season, and that won't repeat itself, despite him looking at improved deployment.

It's all pretty close with their point production, but Lindholm is locked into that great salary for a lot of years. Ditto for Teravainen, he will be a big time value contract in a couple seasons.

Looks like Lindholm is in leader here, followed closely by Teravainen, Couturier, and Hertl. Slim margins, so maybe I go with the best trade offer I can make. Try for Lindholm, but not be disappointed if I "end up" with Courturier.
