Yet another contract signed that proves Jim Rutherford has absolutely no vision. Sad to say, I think he may be losing his faculties a little bit. How does Brandon Tanev cost you 6 years x $3.5 million with a partial NTC when you can sign Ryan Dzingel for less money without having to hand over term or stupid trade protection. Just unbelievable.

There have been some real FA bargains out there for teams with the patience to wait. Dzingel is one-dimensional, but that dimension is tough to come by. Very smart bet for the Hurricanes here.
Curious to see what this means for Justin Williams and if there is the money to bring him back. Also, is there roster space? Necas is knocking on the door, but maybe he needs an injury before he can break through.
