    Question His for her

I got offered Hertl in exchange for Hischier straight up. League and team in sig.

I know Hertl is still relatively young, but am I crazy for not wanting to send Hischier? I think Nicos value is going to continue to climb year after year, especially if Hall re-signs in NJ.

Should I take the trade or should I hold onto Nico for the long term investment?

I think you keep Hischier for now. He's got 2 seasons of solid numbers and room to grow, Hertl only has last season and more positional competition. You might need to act quickly if things start changing in NJ though. I don't think Hughes takes that job this year, but I also don't think Hall is staying.

I agree he's the safer pick this year, but is he the safer pick going forward? And if Hertl is the safer pick, is Nico a higher risk/higher reward kind of guy?

I think Nico's point ceiling is around 70-75, and we have already seen Hertl get there. Plus add all the extra categories that Hertl produces more in, and I would want him easy. I'm surprised you don't have to add more to get him.

Looking more into it now as I don’t watch much sharks games I’m leaning more towards Hertl just because of peripherals. Hischier will no doubt be great also

Don't overthink this. Hertl is the better player now and will likely continue to be for the foreseeable future, if not forever.

You are not crazy at all, Tomato. You should hold onto Hischier. The guy is 6 years younger(6!) and still has room for growth
while Hertl as much as I like him I don't think he is a 75 point player(like he showed last year) hes more like a 65-70 point player. Hischier could be a point per game player or at least a 70-74 points per season player.

BTW wheres that Hertl>>>Hischier peripherals thing comes from? Hertl is a hit per game for his career while Hischier in his 2 seasons had: 56(in 82 games) and 53(in just 69 games!) ..not to mention that since 2014-15 Hertl makes less and less hits. Blocks - Hertl is great for a forward in that category but Hischier is over 0.50 blocks per game.. and we are talking about a guy in his 18 and 19 years old seasons..thats pretty good.
Hischier is not a Gaudreau type of player thats gonna give you 10-15 hits and blocks per year.

I really like Hertl a whole lot in your settings, dude. Faceoffs from the wing are the wild card in this comparison, and Hertl is going to provide that in spades along with steady production. The most important aspect of Hertl's breakout being sustained was locking down Erik Karlsson, and now that's been accomplished. With consistent top-six minutes and PP1 on lockdown with Burns/Karlsson always at the ready to feed passes and threaten play, Hertl should be able to replicate his production from last season. Unless he can improve his shot rates, I would expect his goal scoring to decrease, but I think overall he's a safe bet to threaten 70 points.

give me Hertl here too... If His surpasses Her in points it's 2 or more years away. And it won't be by a landslide.

that 2-3 years is a lifetime in fantasy hockey (odds are you won't own either by then) So take the now production
