Canucks now have 15 Forwards on 1-way deals... I believe Pettersson is the only one waiver exempt - otherwise it's 16

I don't think this applies. I believe expansion draft is 2021-22 and only full NMC's need be protected.

The biggest concern here is health. He's been a decent complimentary offensive guy the past two years on two different teams. His contract won't kill the team either way.

I have to imagine he was signed to also protect EP and BB. He's not a goon and has shown he can play at a 40 point pace, but I have to believe he is there to make it more difficult to take a run at the 2 stars.

Decent signing IMO. Van won't be an easy team to play against

Nice signing by the Canucks. They are intriguing team for sure. Mayers, Miller and now Ferland...Boeser-Horvat-Pettersson a year older, ayear better.
